ADVANCED PROGRAMS &
SOULCRAFT JOURNEYS |
|
These
courses are designed for those who have previously vision-fasted
or have experienced other soul-oriented work (need not be
with AVI) as well as for wilderness-initiation guides, soulcraft
trainees, psychotherapists, educators, and health professionals.
In other words, these programs are for those who seek to take
the next big step with their own self-discovery and for those
who wish to familiarize themselves with soul-and-nature-oriented
practices that can be employed in guiding, teaching, counseling,
and therapy.
Designed to foster soul encounter and soul initiation, the
advanced intensives and soulcraft journeys emphasize experiential
work in both the inner and outer wilderness. Each 5-day intensive
takes place at a retreat center or a wilderness car-camp and
focuses on the use of two or three specific soulcraft practices.
The 8-day soulcraft journeys, in contrast, take place on backpacking
expeditions into wild country and draw upon a larger number
of soulcraft practices. Each of these programs is designed
as a stand-alone experience. Come prepared for wall-to-wall
fun, unbeatably soulful camaraderie, powerful emotion, breath-taking
personal discoveries, occasional quiet thresholds, and magical
moments spilling over the wild land.
**These programs require an application, and your registration isn't accepted until your application has been approved by the lead guide for that program. |

| Description: In order to grow into our full human potential, we must be in regular conversation with something or someone greater than our everyday human selves. We must open ourselves to the Sacred Other that which we might otherwise call soul, spirit, nature, the universe, the Tao, the gods and goddesses, or the unconscious. This intensive will explore a variety of creative methods for engaging and developing those conversations. SOUL TASKS are custom-designed for you based on the themes and symbols of your dreams and most sacred waking-life experiences, offering you the opportunity to dive deep into the conversation that the world is radiantly open to having with you. DIALOGUES WITH NATURE encompass a variety of practices that support you in reclaiming your innate capacity to communicate with other-than-human beings. We will explore dialogue through speech, poetry, song, imagery, and movement. SELF-DESIGNED CEREMONY is a powerful way of putting all this together, anchoring your everyday life in your experiences with the sacred. We will help each other design individual ceremonies from life-transition themes, dreams, deep imagery journeys, archetypes and myths, soul task experiences, and nature dialogues. You will discover how ceremony is perhaps the most effective way to speak to the Sacred Other in its native language of symbol, image, and embodiment.< |
